Amber is a Licensed Independent Social Worker in Ohio and West Virginia and a therapist at After the Storm Counseling. She earned her Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University and brings extensive clinical experience from psychiatric hospitals, substance use treatment programs, and correctional settings. These environments have shaped her understanding of complex mental health needs, crisis support, and long-term emotional healing.

Amber provides therapy for adolescents and adults experiencing:

  • Anxiety disorders and chronic worry

  • Depression and mood-related concerns

  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

  • Emotional dysregulation and overwhelm

  • Identity development and self-esteem concerns

  • Relationship and interpersonal difficulties

  • Life transitions, stress, and adjustment challenges

  • Neurodivergent-related support (including emotional and behavioral regulation needs)

She works with clients seeking anxiety therapy in Ohio, trauma counseling, and support for emotional healing and personal growth.

Amber is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and is actively pursuing advanced certification in this evidence-based trauma treatment model.

Her clinical work integrates:

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Trauma-informed care

  • Skills-based coping strategies

  • Strengths-based and person-centered therapy

She focuses on helping clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, regulate emotional responses, and build practical tools for managing stress, anxiety, and trauma symptoms.

Amber’s approach is collaborative, direct, and compassionate. She believes effective therapy happens when clients feel safe, understood, and actively engaged in their healing process. Sessions are structured to balance emotional support with practical skill-building so clients can apply what they learn in everyday life.

Amber has a special interest in working with individuals navigating neurodivergence and complex emotional experiences. She provides an affirming, nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore challenges related to anxiety, trauma, identity, and relationships.

Her goal is to help clients in Ohio—especially those seeking therapy in Central Ohio communities like Powell, Dublin, Lewis Center, and Columbus—build resilience, improve emotional regulation, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.
