Drawing upon current understanding of trauma, the nervous system, and mind-body healing, Dr. Herzberg integrates sound therapy into treatment as a complementary therapeutic intervention when clinically appropriate. Sound therapy is used alongside evidence-based psychotherapy to support nervous system regulation, promote relaxation, reduce stress, and enhance overall emotional well-being. Depending on each client's individual needs and treatment goals, sound therapy may be incorporated to complement treatment for trauma, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), neurodivergence, stress-related conditions, sleep difficulties, emotional regulation, and other concerns associated with nervous system dysregulation. Every treatment plan is individualized, and sound therapy is used as one component of a comprehensive, trauma-informed approach to care.

Dr. Herzberg believes that healing begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, compassion, and genuine human connection. She understands that every person's journey is unique and tailors treatment to meet each client's individual strengths, experiences, and goals. Her therapeutic style combines evidence-based interventions with warmth, empathy, authenticity, and humor when appropriate, creating an environment where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to grow.

The name After the Storm Counseling reflects Dr. Herzberg's philosophy that healing often begins after life's most difficult experiences. Sometimes the storm has just passed, while other times its effects remain for months or even years. Whether someone is navigating a recent crisis or carrying emotional wounds from the past, Dr. Herzberg believes that healing is possible. She is honored to walk alongside her clients as they discover resilience, restore hope, regulate their nervous systems, and create meaningful, lasting change.
