Welcome to our Billing and Insurance page. We know that navigating the financial aspects of mental health counseling can be overwhelming. Our goal is to clarity practices regarding billing, payment options, and insurance coverage. Please find all the necessary information to help you make informed decisions about your care.

We do not accept most Medicare plans at this time. We do accept many dual plans including MyCare Molina, Ambetter, UHC Dual, and some others. We do not accept most HMO plans. We do not currently accept Humana or Americana Carnitas.

Clients that carry insurance should be aware that professional services are rendered and charged to the client and not the insurance company, meaning we bill insurance as a courtesy to you, but ultimately if your insurance does not cover your charges, you will be responsible for the balance owed. Clients should be aware that there are some conditions that insurance does not cover. We will submit claims on your behalf. We do not balance bill as this is not allowed legally. We collect negotiated rates when due.

Private-Pay/Self Pay Therapy Sessions
Self-Pay Rates $150 per assessment, $120 per 60-minute session
Student Discounted Rate $120 per assessment $90 per session
Mental Health Professional Rate: $120 per assessment and $90 per session
A No surprises Act Good Faith Estimate will be Provided for all out-of-pocket payers.
Payments
All Co-Payments, Deductible payments, Coinsurance payments are set by your insurance company, not After the Storm Counseling LLC. All payments are due at the time of service.
Cancellation Policy
Any appointment that is not cancelled within a 24-hour period can be charged a $75 cancellation fee.
Methods of Payment
Method of Payment accepted include Cash, Money Order, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and Most Health Savings Accounts. We are sorry, we cannot accept Care Credit or Personal Checks at this time.
Insurance Coverage
Ultimately it is the client's responsibility to understand what their plan covers, we do check insurance as a courtesy and unfortunately there are times that insurance does not provide 100% accuracy until we receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB). We do our best to ensure the information we receive is accurate before services start but cannot be held responsible for insurance company error.
