​If you’re struggling with disordered eating patterns, body image concerns, or feeling stuck in cycles of restriction, bingeing, or guilt—you are not alone. Healing doesn’t have to happen in isolation.

At After the Storm Counseling, our Disordered Eating Group Therapy provides a safe, structured, and compassionate space to explore your relationship with food and your body while building healthier coping skills and connection with others who understand.

What this group is for?
This group is designed for individuals who may be experiencing:

Restrictive eating or chronic dieting patterns

Binge eating or emotional eating cycles

Body image distress or body dysmorphia concerns

Shame or guilt around food choices

Feeling “out of control” with eating habits

Anxiety, perfectionism, or trauma-related eating behaviors
You do not need a formal eating disorder diagnosis to participate. If your relationship with food or your body is causing distress, this group may be a fit.

Adolescents and adults struggling with disordered eating patterns and negative body image looking to gain a better understanding of disordered eating patterns and improve body image
What can I gain from joining the group?
You can learn the effects of disordered eating patterns, learn ways to practice body neutrality, and strategies for overcoming barriers to change
What are the costs associated with group?
Group therapy is often covered by most insurance plans. The self-pay rate for group therapy is $40 per therapy session

Body image, disordered eating
patterns, diet culture, social media
influences on eating/body image, and
regular eating patterns.
What are other details of the group?
The group is closed to the same
members each week, with a maximum of 5 group members. Group will consist of 50-60 minute sessions for 8-weeks atour Grandview office.
