Q: How much does Counseling Cost?
A: Self pay rates are $150 for assessments and $120 per session.*
*Student Rate and Therapist without Mental Health coverage rate for assessment $130 and $90 per session
All Sessions last 45-60 minutes in length unless otherwise indicated
Clients that carry insurance should be aware that professional services are rendered and charged to the client and not to the insurance company. Please be aware that not all issues/problems/conditions that are addressed in therapy are covered by insurance. It is the client's responsibility to verify the specifics of their coverage. If a client is using insurance, After the Storm Counseling will submit the claims for you. You are responsible for your copayment at the start of each session and any applicable costs such as deductibles. The client's insurance is billed as a courtesy and if they do not pay for services, the client is responsible for the full payment.

No Surprises Act
The No Surprises Act is a federal law that was passed in December 2021 with an effective date of January 1, 2022. The intention of this act is to prevent clients from receiving unexpected medical bills for services previously provided. The No Surprises Act requires providers to send a Good Faith Estimate to all self-pay clients regarding their projected cost for services. All clients will receive a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day prior to your scheduled service if you are paying out of pocket. It is your right as a client to request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling a service with any healthcare provider. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 higher than your Good Faith Estimate, then you have the right to dispute the bill in question. For more information regarding your right to a Good Faith Estimate, please visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059. The No Surprises Act does not change any operations at After the Storm We will continue to keep our fee rates posted on our website. If fees change, they will be reflected on our website.
